SENSORY ACTIVITIES
Sensory play includes any activity that stimulates your student’s senses: touch, smell, taste, movement, balance, sight, and hearing. Sensory activities facilitate exploration and naturally encourage individuals to use scientific processes while they create, play, investigate, and explore. When your student is exploring make sure to provide them with describing words for the materials. For example, "wow this is really cold", "this is really squishy". I know that our students have some impairments that make some activities more difficult, we always try to include the student in the activity as much as capable. Most importantly, have fun!
