Students can play the turkey dice game at home. The materials were sent home in the November packet. If a dice is too small you can put it in a container with a lid and have them shake that.
ADAPTIVE GAMES AND ACTIVITIES
We like to play games in our classroom. This works on many skills such as peer interaction, waiting skills, counting, attending, memory, and more. Below are some ideas on some games or adaptations you may be able to use at home. It is also a great way to get the household together to do something fun.
WATER GUN GAMES

This link has multiple ideas on how to have fun with squirt guns. These activities work on fine and gross motor skills, as well as attending skills.
BUBBLES
https://theinspiredtreehouse.com/family-activities-for-spring-10-ways-to-play-with-bubbles/
This page has multiple ideas of things to do with bubbles. I know many of our students can not blow the bubbles, however you can play games in which they try to pop the bubbles with different body parts. This could be a fun activity to promote range of motion. They also make many battery powered bubble blowers the students could have fun with.
NOODLE BALL
http://www.clothdiaperaddiction.com/2011/06/i-needa-name-fun-outdoor-game.html
This game includes a beach ball and pool noodle. We often play with beach balls in our classroom, many of the students like to throw them back and forth at each other. This game includes trying to hit the ball with the pool noodle, trying to keep the ball in the air, or whatever fun activity you come up with.
FISHING

This link shows one example of how to make items to "fish" with your student. We have done this in class many times when talking about summer activities. This activity works on attending skills, grasping, releasing, fine motor and gross motor skills.
DICE GAMES
This is an amazon link to some cheap $4 foam dice that we use often in the classroom. We like to play many dice games because all of our students have the ability to roll a dice in some manner. This may be with their hands, moving their limb when the dice is set on top, or knocking it out of our hands with their heads. Any typical board game that uses dice can be used. Also if it is a game that uses colors, you can attach colored paper to the sides of the dice.
OUTDOOR CANDY LAND
Last summer I adapted the die to have colors on the sides. I then used corresponding colored chalk to draw a game board on the sidewalk. The students took turns racing through the game by rolling the die and moving to the next corresponding color. The first one to make it through the chalk game board wins.
BOWLING
Many of our students like bowling. Most people don't having bowling pins laying around, but you can use any bottle such as a water or pop bottle as pins. Any type of ball will work as well.
CARD HOLDER

This link shows how you can use an egg carton to hold playing cards.
GAMES WITH PICTURES
This year we adapted a lot of games to include our students and staffs photos. You could do this using family members/others in the home. We have done this with BINGO, Guess Who, and Memory. It is a great way to get your student familiar with identifying those around them as well as themselves. We often use a mirror to point out to the student their own facial features.
RING TOSS
We have played ring toss many times in our classroom. You can use all different things around your house to make a ring toss. We've used water bottles, the inside cardboard piece from paper towels, and even pumpkins to make the pole and paper plates with the center cut out for the rings. This activity promotes fine motor and grasp/release skills.
